July 1, Trenton, NJ. This year’s NJBA Team Challenge Champion was not determined until the points from the final sprint were tabulated. It was a race that went right down to the wire but the overall team strength of the Northeastern Hardware Team (presented by Moline Cleaners, The Chiropractic Center and Allwood Bicycles) proved to be the deciding factor. In a race which saw the boys in blue and gray caught out by an early break with two of the race favorites, NEH had to claw its way back into contention and finally to the top step of the podium. A strong team chase lead by Rafal Urzedowski and Lou Schimmel, provided the springboard for breakaway specialist Mike Rosenhaus to ride away with Gui Nelessen and soak up the points necessary to get Northeastern on the leader board. Back in the field, Sebastian Potok was providing the leadouts which set up Dan Stewart and Rafal for the larger point sprints. After an excellent team effort which saw four NEH riders place in the top 10, Northeastern took the Team Challenge title by just one point over the Van Dessel Factory Team.

June 10, High Bridge, NJ. After an excellent early season which saw the Northeastern Hardware Team (presented by Moline Cleaners, The Chiropractic Center and Allwood Cycles) win four races during the months of April and May, NEH now leads the Garden State Cycling Cup in both the Senior Men Individual and Team classifications. Mike Rosenhaus set the tone in the first GSCC race of the season, winning the Pinecone RR on April 1st. Then the team traveled up to New England where Sebastian Potok was victorious at the Palmer Library RR on April 28th. On the 5th of May, NEH dominated the High Point Hill Climb, taking the top four slots and placing 6 in the top 10. The Circuito de Evesham on May 20th was the site of another impressive performance with Rafal Urzedowski taking the win ahead of Mike Rosenhaus in 2nd and Dan Stewart in 3rd. Solid performances by new signings Eric Schlidge (2nd at Somerville, Mullica and Corner House) and Ken Lundgren (presently in the top three of the NJBA TT Cup) have added strength to the squad for 2007. Junior cyclist Sean Melcher continues his rise in the sport, always placing highly in the Senior category events while team veterans Dave Martin, Lou Schimmel, Alex Meyer and Ian Curtis provide the depth and support neccessary for NEH’s overall success.
